GSV Writers

GSV Writers offers ongoing support for writers of family history.  The group is open to GSV members as part of their annual subscription.  There is no additional fee.

Benefits

The group encourages and helps its members to write their family histories, especially those who are just starting out.  Benefits include:

• Ongoing access to a large group of writers to share your writing questions.
• Regular discussions on topics relevant to family-history writers, such as writing a good ending, writing memoir, adding maps and images, publishing, footnotes and narrative structure.
• Collaborative reviews and discussion of members’ submitted writing.
• Advice and suggestions about your developing work – from punctuation to readability.

Meetings

GSV Writers meets monthly via Zoom from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month, presently via Zoom, except January.

Any GSV member can register to attend a GSV Writers meeting but will not be registered as a member of the GSV Writers until they submit the form to join.

How to leave

If you no longer wish to be a member of the GSV Writers, please submit this online form leave the GSV Writers.

GSV Writers forum

Between meetings a discussion forum has been set up to enable you to ask questions or share hints and advice.  You will need to separately select that in your subscriptions if you wish to receive email notifications of its new posts: GSV Writers forum  This is open to all GSV members.
