DNA for family historians

This seminar is a basic introduction to the use of DNA for family history purposes. It is timed to give beginners some information before taking advantage of the expected price specials around Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

9.00 – 9.30 Registration

9.30 – 10.30 What is DNA? The four tests used for family history. The testing companies. Websites, blogs and Facebook groups for further information

 10.30 – 11.00 Break

 11.00 – 12 noon: Case studies and, perhaps, one methodology that may help you in conducting your own DNA research                                                                                              

Members $30 , non-members $60 . AIGS or RHSV members should contact the GSV for a 25% discount.

Bookings are required and can be made online, in person, by email or by telephone (Mon-Fri 9.00am-4.00pm).

The venue, Community Hub at the Dock, at 912 Collins Street, Docklands, is easily accessed by trams 11 or 48 along Collins Street, alighting at Stop D18.
